Medical negligence and medical accidents:
Fighting your corner

Specialist expertise when it matters most

Choosing the right clinical negligence lawyer has never been more important. Our dedicated medical negligence team has many years of experience in this specialist field of law, and a network of the best medical experts to advise them. As well as having all three available clinical negligence accreditations, the team includes a deputy district judge and an accredited mediator. We have recovered millions of pounds in compensation and are a strong and respected team to have on your side.

We have particular expertise in dealing with catastrophic injuries, including brain and spinal injury, amputation, and cauda equina syndrome. Claims pursued can arise from birth injury, delayed treatment of infection (including Group B streptococcus), delayed diagnosis of cancer, negligent operations, and GP errors, as well as many other aspects of medical maltreatment.

We also have years of experience in helping those affected by fatal injury, whose concerns require specialist knowledge, sensitivity and compassion. We are experienced inquest advocates, and can advise on the law relating to Coroners’ Courts.

There are strict time limits for pursuing claims. Talk to us early so we can ensure your right of action is protected.

Support during your claim, and after it resolves

The welfare of our clients is important to us, so we focus on rehabilitation for severely injured clients as soon as practicable. We have expertise in obtaining and managing interim compensation awards, to fund adapted homes, care, therapy and equipment. We offer an in-house Court of Protection Deputyship service, which supports clients while the claim is ongoing, and provides continuity after it resolves. We also offer personal injury trusts to protect welfare benefits entitlements which would otherwise be lost when compensation is awarded.

Funding your legal expenses

Unlike many other clinical negligence law firms, we still offer Legal Aid for birth injury claims.

We also have good standing with a leading legal expenses insurer, which means that unlike some medical negligence law firms, we can offer legal costs insurance cover from the outset. Benefits include peace of mind and a stronger negotiation position – important if your opponent is an insurance company, or the NHS.

Funding options we offer include:

  • Legal Aid
  • Conditional Fee (sometimes called No Win No Fee)
  • Legal Expenses Insurance – both before and after your claim arises
  • Third Party Funding
  • Flexible Private Funding Terms, including fixed fee investigation

Diana Lyalle was approachable, professional, available and all I could expect of a legal representative – she is also a very nice person who cared about me – I am impressed.
